Counselling for teenagers
A safe space to talk, make sense of things and feel more like yourself.
Being a teenager can feel overwhelming sometimes. You might be dealing with anxiety, low mood, friendship difficulties, pressure at school, family changes or feelings you don't quite know how to explain. You might feel misunderstood, have a diagnosis which seems to be impacting the way you live or struggle to talk to the people around you.
You don't have to have all the answers before you come to counselling.
At Live Beyond Therapy, I offer young people aged 13 and over a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where they can talk openly about what is going on for them. There is no pressure to say the right thing, explain everything perfectly or pretend that things are okay when they aren't.

Whether you know exactly what's troubling you or simply feel that something doesn't feel right, we can take the time to explore it together.
A space where you can be yourself
Counselling isn't about being told what to do or being judged for how you feel. It's about having someone listen carefully, take you seriously and help you make sense of your experiences.
You might want to talk about:
Anxiety, stress or feeling overwhelmed
Low mood, sadness or feeling alone
Friendships, relationships and social pressures
School, exams and worries about the future
Family difficulties, separation or changes at home
Confidence, self-esteem and understanding your emotions
Feelings that are difficult to put into words
You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Sometimes, having space to talk can help before things feel too much.
How I can help
I'm Lucy Beavon, a BACP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist with an MA in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. My approach is thoughtful, compassionate and tailored to the individual.
I work collaboratively with young people, helping them explore their feelings and experiences at a pace that feels manageable. Over time, counselling can help you develop a better understanding of yourself, recognise patterns in how you feel and respond, and find new ways of coping with life's challenges.
I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting. You don't need to know what to expect or where to begin — we can work that out together.
Worried about your teenager?
If you're a parent or carer, it can be difficult to see your child struggling, particularly when they find it hard to talk about what's happening. Counselling can give them dedicated time and space to explore their feelings with someone outside the family, while helping them feel heard and understood.
I recognise the importance of working sensitively with both young people and their families, while respecting a young person's need for privacy and independence. Confidentiality and its limits will be explained clearly from the outset.
