About me, and my path to becoming a therapist.
Several years ago, I began to explore my own lived experience more deeply. I found myself questioning why certain situations triggered strong emotional responses in me, while other people seemed to navigate them with ease. Engaging in my own psychotherapy was a transformative journey. It helped me develop a deeper understanding of myself, my behaviours, and emotional patterns, ultimately leading to more meaningful relationships and a stronger sense of inner connection.
After a fulfilling career in a different field, I realised I wanted to work more directly with people in a therapeutic capacity. I went on to complete a Masters degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy and gained substantial experience working with clients with a wide range of difficulties. The work is a privilege and I never take the trust my clients place in me for granted.
As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I adhere to their code of ethics. I am fully insured to work with clients in private practice.
We can work in-person in Chelmsford (close to the Army & Navy roundabout CM2) or online if preferred.
I offer counselling Monday – Friday including some evening sessions.
I work with people experiencing a range of difficulties including (but not limited to):
